Can't believe it's the flu season again.  My two kids get flu shots every year.  I am toying with the idea of stop it when they hit puberty.  I used to get the shots too until about 3 years ago.  Then I totally stopped.  The reason was simple.  I had a big reaction to the shots. 

My company offered free flu shots to people who have kids and elders at home.  So I took the shot around 10 in the morning.  Starting after lunch, I felt kind of funny, like coming down with something.  By 5pm, the flu just totally took over.  I had the chills, headaches.  Needless to say, I felt so miserable.

I honestly don't know what the flu shots do for us.  In my family, the kids get them and the adults don't.  But when one person gets sick, we all get it.  I don't really see any big difference with the flu shots.  For instance, the past 2 weeks, my son started the whole thing, then my husband, my daughter.  I was the last one who got it, but also the worst one.  I am about 80% recovered, still have a bit of mucus.  But now I am puzzled, what difference the flu shots made?  Nothing really.  But if I study the situation a bit closer, I maybe able to say that the kids recovered a bit faster than us.  But then, it could be because they are younger and their bodies just recover faster.  I don't know.

At least 1/3 of the families in my church group are also fighting this round of cold.  I am using cold and flu interchangeable here because I really can't tell the difference.
