When I opened up yahoo's home page this morning, at the upper right hand corner, as usually, I quickly glance at the "Trending now" section.  This little column is suppose to catch what are the top 10 hottest search for the day.

today's trending is very interesting, according to this section, America's hottest searches are: 1. Ashlee Simpson; 2. Kirstie Alley; 3. Lindsay Lohan; 4. Kate Winslet; 5. Jennifer Aniston; 6. Gwyneth Paltrow; 7. Michaele Salahi; 8. Selena Gomez; 9. Roseanne Barr; 10. Steven Tyler.

Now I am not sure if you have the same problem like me when you see the top trending list.  Other than number 8 and 9 which I had to do a little research on, the rest of them, I recognize immediately.  They are all the celebrities in the show biz.  After my quick research on 8 and 9, I can safely conclude that today, in America, the biggest thing on our mind is show biz!

Honestly, I found that very disturbing.  Let's not talk about world peace, or the oil shortage because of the riot, or the recent earthquakes at the rest of the world.  Let's just focus on what we have here, in America.  Right now, our government just release the unemployment rate of 8.9% officially; right now, I see gas price jump to $4/gallon; right now, our country's debt is so great that our great great grandchildren will have to pay for it; right now, our teenagers are in such a distress, so many of them commit murder or suicide.  I can sit here and write maybe at least 50 topics that's on my mind before the 10 show biz celebrities.

Of course I enjoy a show biz gossip from time to time, but the top 10 searches in the country?  That's too much show biz for my day to day life.
